POLAND

Poland is an ex-soviet bloc country located in the Eastern Europe. Officially called the Republic of Poland. Warsaw is its state capital and also the largest city of the nation. The economy of Poland has is most successful economy in Eastern Europe (the ex-Soviet country) and has transitioned from being a planned and controlled economy into a market economy. It is one of rapidly growing economies within the EU. The economic reforms have been sped up manifolds. The privatization of the sectors is progressing very fast with numerous public sector SMEs being handed over to private ownership. This coupled with liberal laws to facilitate easy establishment of private companies has improved the business scenario.  

Poland’s economy is characterized by

. Strong domestic market

. Low private debt

. Flexible currency

. Diverse and expansive export sector that include high end and technical merchandise,

engineering goods, aircraft, helicopters, pharmaceutical products

. A robust Banking sector with 5 national banks,18 foreign banks and almost 600 cooperative

banks.

. On radar of ICFI (strategic foreign investors) for significant investments

. A high-tech and high-end manufacturing sector producing electronics, cars, buses, helicopters,

transport equipment, locomotives, planes, ships, military engineering (including tanks, SPAAG

systems), pharmaceutical products, chemical products, etc.

. Fast modernizing infrastructure-currently served by all four means of transportation, i.e. marine,

road, rail and air. The telecommunication set up is well developed and advanced that meets all

contemporary global standards.

. Self-sufficiency in energy production, which is generally produced by thermal power plants.

How to become a temporary resident in Poland?

Every foreigner willing to become a temporary resident of Poland needs to give grounds for their stay in the country. must follow list of the most common grounds for application:

  • Starting or continuing work in Poland;

  • Working as a highly skilled employee (the Blue Card);

  • Working as a delegate of a foreign company;

  • Starting a business in Poland;

  • Pursuing higher education studies in Poland (as well as language courses prior to studies);

  • Academic research in Poland;

  • Visiting relatives by a Polish national or a foreigner’s family members;

  • Being a victim of human trafficking;

  • Intending to reunite with a family member who is a EU national;

  • Being a minor child of a person residing in Poland on the grounds of a national visa or a residency card, provided the child was born during the document’s validity period;

  • Being a minor child of a foreigner married to a Polish citizen and possessing a temporary residence permit issued for a Polish citizen family member;

  • Other compelling and documented grounds.

Who will not be granted temporary residence card?

There is also a number of circumstances which prevent Polish authorities from issuing a temporary residence card. If you fall into one of these categories, you will not be granted a temporary residence card. The reasons may include:

  • Being a long-term or permanent EU resident;

  • Staying in Poland on the grounds of a Schengen visa issued for humanitarian reasons;

  • Already staying in Poland on the basis of a temporary residence card issued under circumstances requiring a short stay;

  • Being granted a tolerated stay, permit for a stay on the grounds of humanitarian reasons, asylum, subsidiary or temporary protection, refugee status;

  • Already being the process of applying for a refugee status or seeking asylum;

  • Being placed in a guarded facility, detention or being subject to a ban on leaving the Polish territory;

  • Being imprisoned or in pre-trial custody;

  • Being obliged to return and the period of voluntary return has not expired yet (even in the cases of extending the period);

  • Being obliged to leave Poland within 30 days of the relevant decision;

  • Residing outside Poland (does not apply to those applying for a card to reunite a family);

  • Failing to provide fingerprints.

Documentation

Depending on the type of reasons behind your application, different documents need to be filed, but some of them remain the same:

  • Application form for a temporary residence permit – 4 copies (download here)

  • Valid travel document – 3 copies

  • Current color photographs – 4 copies

  • Written consent of individuals exercising parental authority over a minor applying for a permit.

Please bear in mind that it is possible to obtain other important permits along with your temporary residence card. To be more specific, if you are applying on the grounds of starting your work in Poland, you are able to get a temporary residence card and work permit at the same time.

The whole process may take up to 2 months, to issue a residence card.

POLAND STUDENT VISA REQUIREMENTS.

  1. Visa form (Application for National visa form)

    • Application form should be filled clearly in capital letters or type written;

    • All questions should be answered, with no line left blank;

    • Marital status should be clearly filled;

    • Forms with any kind of correction will not be accepted;

    • Application must be personally filled by the applicant

  2. Current Passport.

    • Passport should be valid for at least three months from the date of expiry of Polish visa obtained by the applicant;

    • Passport must contain at least two blank pages for visas;

    • Copy of passport pages with personal data

  3. All previous passports,

  4. Acceptance letter

  5. Confirmation of the fee payment at least for one year (long-term study) or one semester (in case of short term),

  6. CV

  7. Certificate of educational qualifications (class 10th Mark Sheet & Certificate, Class 12th Mark Sheet & Certificate, graduation Mark Sheet & Certificate - in case of PG Course), all must be authenticate by MEA.

  8. Documents confirming sufficient financial resources for study in Poland,

  9. Bank account in the name of the applicant, if have. (Minimum 8 -10 lakhs required to show)

  10. A letter from the host or sponsor (i.e. sponsorship letter)confirming support of the applicant during the stay in Poland including bank statements and bank certificates, income tax, Fixed Deposits.

  11. Insurance policy for 30,000 euro for 1 year

  12. Ticket booking/ Itinerary

  13. Covering Letter

  14. Photographs Specification on photo for visa

  15. CA REPORT (if available)

 Charges from students other than International Handling Fee- -

  1. For MEA authentication- INR 1500 per document

  2. VISA Fee in Cash- INR 3600

  3. Translation of Document, if any- INR 500 per document

Personal Interview

  1. Personal Interview will take place after submission of all VISA documents at Embassy.

  2. Students will receive a call from embassy for interview after a week of submitting the documents.
